Sundeep Malani's short film on HIV Aids Jo Jo Laali

Upcoming Director Sundeep Malani's short film on HIV Aids 'Jo Jo Laali: a heart wrenching lullaby' (made in Hindi and parts in Kannada and English) is making waves all over.
Even though its a short film, it is entertaining and educative and everyone who has watched it so far have only raved and praised the film. After having its premiere in Mumbai and Bangalore, the film had its premiere show in Bareilly. Shot in Mumbai for over a period of a week on the latest HDV Sony Cam, the film stars Bollywood Actress Kalpana Pandit (of Gaja Gamini, Moksh and Love Khichdi fame) with new entrant Akash Hora (hailing from Bareilly). Master Shrey Tejani plays the central role.
This musical romantic film is about a classical dancer falling in love with a fashion photographer and their love develops to have a child out of wedlock. And because of the man's flirtations with numerous women, the woman at home and the child is infected by the deadly virus. The tragedy that strucks and how she overcomes forms the crux of this entertaining and educative film. There is a strong message at the end that one gives a standing ovation. Music by Ameya Naik and Ricky Kej, the film has a Thandav Number that reminds you of the Sridevi's Thandav from Chandni. Its the same costume designer who tailored for Sridevi has had it for Kalpana. Produced by Kalpana Pandit for her banner House of Pandit, it has story, screenplay, dialogues and direction by Sundeep Malani. Malani's Woh 5 Din and Shaayad are ready for release. He has had two films already hit the theatres - a Kannada film 'Miss California' and a crossover film 'SMS 6260'.
JO JO LAALI will have its screening next in HYDERABAD at the ASICON 2010 (3rd National Conference of AIDS Society of India, Co-Funded by NIH/OAR, USA) on the 30th October 2010.
